Pointe Pacific Apartments Is the Perfect Place for Living Green

Considering all of the daily actions that require water—like showering, washing the dishes, flushing toilets, washing clothes, and watering yards— 1.7 trillion gallons of water are wasted in the United States alone every year. On the other end of the spectrum, over 3.6 billion people worldwide live in areas where water is scarce. One of the many areas facing serious droughts is right here in Southern California.

Here at Pointe Pacific Apartment Homes , we are dedicated to playing our part and doing all we can to protect the environment. We strive to present an environment that promotes sustainable living in every way—not just by saving water, but also by cutting down on waste. Here are three ways we prioritize living green at Pointe Pacific.

We Save on Water

Because Westminster is prone to droughts, we try our best to cut down on water usage. First, our property has drought-tolerant landscaping complete with plants that don’t require too much water, like succulents. We have also installed a drip irrigation system, as well as replaced some grass and mulch areas with beautiful stone. This allows us to save gallons of water!

The effort we put into saving water outdoors also comes inside, where we save on water with our plumbing system. The average toilet uses almost 3.5 gallons of water every time they flush. Here at Pointe Pacific, we have low-flow toilets , which use about 20 percent less water than regular toilets. Each toilet allows us to save up to 13,000 gallons of water per year!

We Cut Down on Paper and Plastic Usage

At Pointe Pacific, we also make sure we are living green by cutting down on paper and plastic usage. We do everything that usually requires paper—such as rent payments, service requests, applications, and notices—online. Not only is this more convenient for our residents, but it also eliminates the need for unnecessary paper waste.

In our community, we strive to provide quality services to help make your life as a resident a little easier. Visit our new resident portal to pay your rent online, enter a maintenance service request, browse our calendar for upcoming activities, and much more!

We Encourage Recycling

Recycling is another way we make sure we are living green. Not only do we recycle ourselves with bins in our office, but we also encourage our residents to recycle as well. You can recycle items such as empty cans, plastic bottles and containers, paper, and flattened cardboard. However, you cannot recycle food, liquid, plastic bags, plastic wrap, or cups with wax or plastic coating.

Here in Westminster, you can take your recycling to Westminster Recycling Center . While this change only relies on a simple change in habit, it can make a big difference for our planet.

We’re Excited to Announce Organic Waste Recycling!

Organic waste recycling will be coming soon to our local community, and we can’t wait to participate! This initiative will help keep millions of pounds of food waste out of landfills and turn them into compost and renewable natural gas.  We’ll keep you up to date as this program expands throughout the state.

We want to do everything we can to take care of the environment by living green. If you are looking for a new home in Westminster that cares as much about the planet as you do, Pointe Pacific Apartments could be the perfect place!
